Great Tip!

All lasers are not the same!
Choosing the wrong (weak or inappropriate) laser will
cost you time and money and will leave you with little
or no improvement. Beware of cheap lasers that are
less powerful and less effective.

Cooltouch Varia/Coolbreeze

This obsolete laser can over heat and / or burn tissue requires cryogen spray for cooling. Has been in use for other purposes since 1994.This 25 year old laser technology was originally built for other purposes. Toenail fungus lasers came out in 2008.

Q-Clear

Very Inexpensive -Very weak laser. Under powered lasers require numerous treatments/visits for same effect on tissue. Some doctors will opt for an inexpensive solution so the doctor pays the least amount and yet charges you for numerous laser visits with minimal or no improvement.

Plus Many More...

There are many other different types of lasers. Very few of them are appropriate for toenail fungus. In this tough economy there are doctors that will use any laser sitting in their office on toenail fungus. As you now know toenail fungus requires specialized equipment to be effective. It is a fact that most lasers are NOT FDA cleared for toenail fungus. Be careful of the doctor's wording because FDA cleared does not equal FDA cleared for toenail fungus! Also of the few FDA cleared for toenail fungus lasers, some are much better than others!

If you choose the wrong laser you will see no improvement and you will have to repeat the procedure again with the correct or better equipment! We specialize in this specific problem and treat it thoroughly and completely with the correct, best and strongest equipment

The procedure takes less than a half hour and, while results aren't immediate, the toenail will grow out normally in nine to 12 months, in most cases. PathoLase said its laser is 88 percent effective, which it claims is better than anything else on the market. Rafferty is willing to pay for normal-looking toes. "I'm just really excited to see what the results are. This is fantastic," she said.

Introduced in 2008, PinPointe FootLaser uses a patented laser technology to target the pathogens that cause toenail fungus. With PinPointe FootLaser, patients are treated safely and quickly with no drugs, no anesthesia and no pain. PinPointe's laser light passes through the toenail without causing damage to the nail or surrounding skin. Following the procedure, the new nail will grow in healthy and clear."

PinPointe FootLaser Receives FDA Clearance for the Treatment of Onychomycosis PinPointe USA, Inc., a leader in podiatric light-based therapy, announced today that the PinPointe FootLaser treatment received clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of nail fungus (onychomycosis). "PinPointe submitted clinical evidence to the FDA demonstrating that after a single treatment, between 68 percent and 81 percent of patients experienced increased clear nail at six and 12 months, and 81 percent of all patients had sustained improvement at 12 months," says John Strisower, founder and Chief Executive Officer of PinPointe.

"With the clearance of the
PinPointe FootLaser, patients
finally have a pain-free treatment
option that is more successful
than topically applied antifungal
drugs, safer than oral medication,
and less painful than surgical
removal of the nail."

"Commented Brian McDowell, DPM also from Sacramento, "Response to our initial advertising announcing the availability of this wonderful technology has been overwhelming. Patients are thrilled that the medical technology industry has finally developed a sophisticated laser system that kills the pathogens that cause toenail fungus quickly and efficiently. I have had patients call their friends and family from my examining room encouraging them to make their own appointments immediately. We've never seen a public response like this to new drugs or ointments that treat toenail fungus. Nor have we ever had a solution with PinPointe's high rate of success to offer our patients."

"Toenail fungus is an incredibly embarrassing, chronic condition affecting millions of people worldwide that genuinely impacts a person's quality of life. For some with diabetes or immune disorders, nail fungus can lead to serious health problems," said Dr. Adam Landsman, Assistant Professor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School and Chief of the Division of Podiatric Surgery at Cambridge Hospital in Massachusetts. The Noveon Laser is the first fully automated PAINLESS laser to treat toenail fungus. It utilizes a dual wavelength laser with a photobiologic effect which kills fungus (other lasers use heat and are painful). The Doctor just attaches the laser to your toes & flips the switch. Treatments take 16 minutes and up to four toes can be treated simultaneously.

Dual Wavelength : The Noveon Laser is different than heat based lasers which utilize 1064nm.Over ten years of basic research have shown that two laser wavelengths, 870nm and 930nm,are more effective at killing fungus. The Noveon Laser is a painless "cold" laser that uses both in a system designed for more effective treatment. Noveon light energy damages fungal cell metabolism leading to cell death. Dual wavelengths cause radical oxygen species to form and accumulate inside fungal cells disrupting metabolic functioning, causing the fungal cells to die.

870nm Targets Cytochrome C 930nm Targets Fungal Cell Membrane Targets metallic portions/Cytochrome C within fungal cells Excites the lipid bilayer in outer membranes of fungal cells Disrupts oxidation and reduction reactions Destabilizes membrane bioenergetics Stops electron transfers essential to fungal cell function Destroys fungal cell wall Wavelengths 870(+/-)nm & 930(+/-)nm do not harm healthy tissue, mammalian cells can cope with the light energy whereas fungal cells are less resilient and break down.

Fully Automated Operation: Fully computerized algorithm laser accurately delivers the precise dosage of treatment.

Great Tip!

Sometimes the most powerful laser is not the most effective! In those instances we use the highly effective dual wavelength.

Our doctors have been trained by Nomir and hold Noveon Academy Accreditation for this laser.

Patient Satisfaction: The greatest thing about this laser are the results. The patients themselves were generally happy with their Noveon treatment results.

Doctors asked patients to rate their satisfaction on a 4-point scale from dissatisfied to very satisfied. The vast majority - over 80% - were ‘satisfied’ or ‘very satisfied’ with their results.

INSIDER'S TIP TO LASER SELECTION:

It is easy to show the difference between these lasers in person. It is a little
more difficult on the internet. But if you could see one laser next to the other
you would easily be able to see the substantial differences.

Some of these lasers look dated, like very old technology or are small and
portable like a tabletop cigar box which would basically look like a toy next to
the NdYAG G+.

Whenever I show patients the differences between lasers I simply ask them if
they really want to get rid of the fungus as quickly as possible. After seeing
the differences in person almost all of my patients go right to the NdYAG G+
because they can easily see that the NdYAG G+ is will most likely get them
better quicker!

When you come to my facility I will show you the differences between lasers
so you can make the right choice for yourself!

Treatment Seriously

Have you seen only minimal improvement following a laser treatment elsewhere?

Did the technician race through your treatment?

Did they quickly just perform the laser treatment and not even bother to prepare the toenail plates for the treatment? Or if it was a doctor how often does the doctor you picked actually perform this type of procedure on toenails?

Does the doctor's practice concentrate mostly on other health problems?

If you did not show improvement following the first treatment was your treatment plan changed?
